Activities autumn 2025

On September 18, the research environment coordinator will meet with our theme leaders for a review of the current situation and a discussion of the identified challenges and opportunities within SIHW’s respective themes.

On October 2, we welcome you to a session where the researchers who were granted internal research time during 2025 will present the current status of their projects.
The session is open to everyone – welcome!

On November 5, from 10:00 to 12:00, SIHW together with the Communications Department invites you to a seminar where we will explore:

  • What research communication means
  • Strategies for increasing the impact of research
  • Key considerations when disseminating your research
  • The research support available at JU regarding research communication

On November 14, the ViS Conference Hur nära är Nära vård? will be held in Gothenburg, in the Arvid Carlsson venue at the Sahlgrenska Academy. The conference highlights the knowledge gap from the staff’s perspective within academia, as well as municipal and regional services. Registration opens in the autumn, and more information will follow.

On December 5, 08:30–09:30, there will be a meeting with theme leaders within SIHW and head of the Research Environment. Contact person: Frida Lygnegård.

Theme meetings

net-WORK

On September 11, from 1–3 p.m., net-WORK will have its first meeting of the fall in room Ga626. For more information, please contact Anne-Le Morville.

On November 20, 15-17 p.m. there will be a workshop on the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) with Assistant Professor Guénola Nonet, from JIBS. The IDGs are linked to the United Nation’s SDGs and are the result of a non-profit initiative that is committed to fostering inner development towards more sustainable futures. The workshop will be held at JIBS in room B3008 on November 20th, 15-17. We will round-up the workshop by discussing how we can use the IDGs in both research and teaching, and whether someone is interested in new projects regarding the IDGs

Social Perspectives on Health and Welfare

Below are the upcoming meetings for Social Perspectives on Health and Welfare.

On September 15, 1:15–3:00 pm, a workshop on the theme will be held.
Discussion material can be found in the Outlook calendar booking.

On October 6, 1:15–3:00 pm, a text seminar will be held, with the opportunity to present your own texts and ideas. Expressions of interest and material should be sent to elin.lindsmyr@ju.se no later than September 29.

On November 10, 1:15–3:00 pm, Kristoffer Nilsson from Karlstad University will present his dissertation: In the Public Eye. On trust and perceptions of social services, and how these are perceived and handled by social workers.

On December 8, 1:15–3:00 pm, a work seminar will be held focusing on applications.

At text seminars, a designated reader is appointed for each text. This person reads extra carefully and leads the discussion during the seminar.

If you wish to present a text and have a suggestion for a designated reader, please mention it when submitting your material in advance of the seminar.

Violence in close relationships

October 15, 1–2 PM. What research is currently being conducted within the theme of violence, and where are we headed? If you are a doctoral student, lecturer, or researcher with an interest in this theme, you are warmly welcome. There will be opportunities to present ongoing studies, ideas for new projects, or similar.

Together, we will look ahead and set the stage for a new term within the theme of violence. For questions or more information, please contact Berit Möller.

Place: Ga626, Antarktis

November 11, 1:30–3:00 PM. The theme of violence will be joined by Elizabeth Muhic and Maria Birgerheim from the Child Protection Team within Region Jönköping County. The session will begin with a presentation of the team’s work. After that, those interested will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop aimed at discussing ideas for joint projects.

Promotion and Prevention

On November 12th, 3:00–4:00 PM, Ida Åström Malm will speak on the topic Research at AKD. She will present an ongoing research project at AKD and discuss the various methods available at the School of Health and Welfare that could be used in research projects.
