Research
Jean-Bosco’s PhD project focused on brokerage practices in the prevention of electoral violence in Kenya's 2013 elections. This was done as a way of understanding the place of non-conventional actors in peacebuilding.

Jean-Bosco's research interests, theorefore, include, but not limited to, electoral violence prevention, brokers and brokerage in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, civic and peace education, post-violence reconciliation, participation and inclusion, and recovery and healing. In his research, he focuses on the role of actors actors in transforming communities for and in which they operate, putting specific focus on practices of violence prevention.

Biography
Jean-Bosco HABYARIMANA is an adjunct at the School of Education and Communication, Jönköping University since August 2024.  Prior to that, Jean-Bosco worked as a Researcher at the Swedish Institute of Foreign Affairs (Utrikespolitiska institutet) and at the Scholl of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. He also worked as a Researcher, lecturer and Project Team Leader at the Center for Conflict Management, University of Rwanda. Researcher affiliated to the Center for Conflict Management of the University of Rwanda. He has a PhD in Peace and Development Research, obtained from the University of Gothenburg, School of Global Studies, in Sweden, an MA in Peace Education obtained from the United Nations mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica, and a Bachelor of Education in English and French language teaching.
