Many interested in this year’s PrevJU
On 27 May, the doors to Jönköping University's (JU) four schools were opened when prospective national students who have chosen JU as their first, second or third choice for the autumn semester had the opportunity to visit the campus. About 400 people got a preview of the university, student life and the city of Jönköping. “It was a fantastic day where our student ambassadors, the Student Union, the student associations at the schools, and also the municipality showed the best of Jönköping as a student city and what awaits the students in the future,” says Anders Wadell, project manager for PrevJU.

Silver medal and 37 stitches
Just under a week ago, business administration student, Sayed, returned to Jönköping after having competed in the World Championships in Thai boxing. He took home a silver medal and 37 stitches in his mouth.

Karl Hammar, former Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU), now works at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, USA.“Something that JTH does well and that I will have use for at Microsoft is the very close collaboration with industry, which is a big advantage compared to many other universities,” he says.

Successful EQUIS accreditation: JIBS granted five more years
Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University has received renewed accreditation from the international accrediting body EFMD. The school's EQUIS accreditation is extended for five more years, confirming its position as an internationally leading business school.

Thesis on John Bauer was awarded in “Spegelsalen” in Stockholm
Last summer, Josefine Karlsson graduated from the subject teacher programme at the School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University (JU). Her degree project on the artist John Bauer was awarded 30,000 SEK by the Småland Guild. On Saturday, 22 April, Josefine received the prize money during Småland Guild’s spring ball, which was held in the “spegelsalen” (Mirror hall) at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm.

Nominate JU’s Alumni of the Year
For the third year in a row, Jönköping University (JU) celebrates its former students by awarding the “Alumni of the Year”. The ceremony will take place on 3 October, where one alumnus/alumna from each school and Jönköping University Enterprise (JUE) will be honored. Nominate your favourite no later than 12 May.

This year’s Spring Celebration featured songs, speeches and music
On Walpurgis Night, Sunday 30 April, spring was celebrated in Hälsoparken on campus. For the first time, the spring celebration was co-organized by Jönköping University (JU) together with Jönköping Student Union, which resulted in a record number of visitors.
