Jönköping University's Pathway Programmes are designed  for international students as a bridge towards a degree.

When applying for a Pathway Programme, you may also apply for a degree programme at Jönköping University. If eligible, you will receive a conditional offer to a bachelor or master programme. When having successfully completed the Pathway Programme you may enter into your pre-selected and eligibility assessed degree programme without any further testing.

Important information for those applying to Pathway Year/semester + Bachelor's/Master's programmes in business or economics:

In the application to full year Pathway programme + follow-up programme at JIBS (starting Pathway in the autumn semester 2025) you select the programme level and the major you are interested in – either Economics or Business Administration.

Once you have started the Pathway programme you will be asked to select the specific programme you want to study at JIBS - after successful completion of your Pathway.

In your application you select wither of the following:

 

Master programme areas:

Master with a major in Business Administration (60 ECTS)

A 1-year, full time study, master programme at JIBS implies advanced studies, clearly focused on a selected field of study (e.g. finance), with equal focus on skills and competencies. The programmes are designed to offer an excellent, yet short way to the job-market in a well-defined subject.

Master with a major in Business Administration (120 ECTS)

A 2-year Master programme at JIBS implies an advanced study path with broad and in-depth studies in an broader area (e.g. management). With our 2-years, full time study, Master’s degree you enter the job market with a comprehensive knowledge base. You are also well prepared to take on cutting-edge research and doctoral studies in the subject area.

Master in Engineering Management (75 ECTS)

Engineering management provides a tailor-made education in management for students with a degree in engineering. The programme is run over 12 months, full time study, offering coursework and internship totalling 75 credits.

Master with a major in Economics (120 ECTS)

The 2-year Master programme in Economics at JIBS implies an advanced study path with in-depth and broad studies in Economics, yet with opportunities to specialize. With our 2-years, full-time study, Master’s degree you enter the job market with a comprehensive knowledge base. You are also well prepared to take on cutting-edge research and doctoral studies in the subject area.

 

Bachelor programme areas:

Bachelor with a major in Economics (180 ECTS)

The Bachelor programme at JIBS is designed to deliver a broad, solid, and up-to-date base in the chosen discipline (e.g. marketing, finance, accounting, leadership) combined with a package of business-relevant skills and competence elements. Regardless of which profile you seek, a JIBS bachelor programme will develop you as an entrepreneurial, international, and responsible future manager. The programmes are run full-time over three years, with campus -based education taught completely in English.

Bachelor with a major in Business Administration (180 ECTS)

The Bachelor programme at JIBS is designed to deliver a broad, solid, and up-to-date base in the chosen discipline (e.g. micro, macro, econometrics, finance) combined with a package of relevant skills and competence elements. Regardless of which profile you seek, a JIBS bachelor programme will develop your entrepreneurial, international, and responsible competencies. The programmes are run full-time over three years, with campus -based education taught completely in English.

TOEFL tests can be sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to institutional code 8487.

Tests not listed under the Pathway programmes above are not accepted.

Students who already meet the minimum requirements for a programme at Jönköping University are not eligible for a Pathway programme. (Except for Pathway Summer.)

When Can I Apply?

    • The application period may close early if a programme becomes full before the deadline.
    • The principle for admittance is first come, first served.

    When will be the last day for arrival?

    We expect you to be in Gränna for the roll call when the semester starts. If you can not arrive on time please contact pathwayadmissions@ju.se. Do not forget to inform accommodations@ju.se and your teachers at pathway@ju.se as well.


    Are you arriving late?

    Do not worry, we will ensure students who have contacted us can participate online. Note that to be able to keep your place you have to partake in lectures, workshops and group work online.
