Accommodation and Campus Life
The Pathway programme is designed to give you a soft landing in Sweden.
- Accommodation is Guaranteed: Your programme fees include guaranteed accommodation in Gränna. You will live in a single, furnished room within a shared student residence on Campus Gränna. Please note that the accommodation on campus is for students only, no family members.
- Half-Board Meals Included: The accommodation includes half-board. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant on campus or as boxed meals, making your transition to independent living easy and affordable. You will have access to a shared kitchen for breakfast and other meals.
- Study Environment: Campus Gränna provides modern teaching facilities located within walking distance of the student residences. The school is composed of several small wooden buildings, some of which date back to the 18th century. Its small size ensures a close-knit community where you can easily meet your classmates and get dedicated support from your teachers.

The Gränna Community
Gränna offers a unique and safe experience that is excellent for international students.
- Safety and Peace: Gränna is known for being a very safe place to live. The small size and calm atmosphere allow you to focus on your studies and feel comfortable in your new surroundings. A local health centre is also located nearby.
- The Swedish Experience: The town is famous for its history and its traditional peppermint candy (known as polkagrisar). You will be living right next to Lake Vättern, Sweden’s second-largest lake, with beautiful scenery and outdoor opportunities.
- Regular Transport to Jönköping: While you study in Gränna, buses run frequently (every half hour) between Gränna and the main Jönköping city campus. The journey takes approximately 35 to 60 minutes.

Making the Transition to Jönköping
Your Pathway Programme is specifically structured to prepare you for your degree in Jönköping, or elsewhere. The main Jönköping campus will be your next academic destination if you continue your studies at JU. Jönköping is a dynamic student city known for its beautiful lakes and status as a major business hub.
- Visiting the Main Campus: To help you transition, some of your Pathway classes will be scheduled at the main Jönköping University campus. This ensures you become familiar with the city and the university buildings, and gives you opportunities to meet students from other programmes.
- Student Support: You will have access to all JU student resources, including the Library, IT support, and the Jönköping Student Union, from the moment you begin the Pathway Programme.
- Early Integration: Becoming familiar with the city early ensures a smoother academic and social start once you begin your full Bachelor's or Master's degree.
