New AI guides

There are now two new pages in Educate's AI guide. In an effort to create AI literacy and promote creative conversations about AI at JU, Educate has developed two new guides.

The first guide, first developed at Stanford University, highlights pedagogical uses such as text support, simulations, and personalized learning, while also emphasizing risks like bias and academic integrity. The second provides a shared language around key AI concepts, including generative AI, machine learning, and AI literacy.

The guides are timely as AI is rapidly transforming both working life and education. For example, UNESCO stresses that the teacher’s role is evolving into a “teacher–AI–student dynamic.” At the same time, education must respond to students’ needs and the demands of the labor market. For teachers, this means building AI competence that ensures teaching is both relevant and ethically sustainable.
