Gradual return to campus teaching

Due to the Swedish Government's removal of most restrictions from 9 February, Jönköping University is planning a gradual return to campus teaching. The schedule for the first part of the Spring term, which runs until mid-March, will largely remain as planned.

On 9 February 2022, the phasing out of Covid-19 measures will begin, including the removal of attendance caps and other explicit attendance restrictions, such as distance between parties and party size requirements, as well as the ability to use vaccination certificates at public gatherings, events and fairs.

The Swedish Government and the Public Health Agency of Sweden consider that the situation is sufficiently stable to start phasing out the infection control measures. Omicron does not cause as much severe disease as previous variants, the burden of care in intensive care and other hospital care has not increased as much as the wide spread of infection, and the vast majority of people in risk groups have now received the third dose of vaccine.

The schedule for the first part of the Spring term remains as planned

Jönköping University takes responsibility for a safe and secure return to campus teaching. Therefore, the schedule for the first part of the Spring term, which runs until mid-March, will remain largely as planned. Any changes from the current schedule will be communicated to affected students by faculty members. We understand that both students and staff need time to adjust their daily lives and operations.

Continue to stay home and avoid close contact with others if you are ill with symptoms that may be Covid-19.

The Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends vaccination

The Swedish Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends that adults who have not been vaccinated take special precautions. This means that these people should avoid crowds and large crowds indoors. The unvaccinated who belong to a medical risk group are at greater risk of serious illness. The risk of serious illness also increases with age.

On 9 February, students and staff can get vaccinated on campus.
