Safety for staff and students at Jönköping University

University Services has signed a new contract with Securitas regarding monitoring services. The contract is valid from April 1, and will run for two years with an option to extend for another two years.

The new contract means that Securitas will have a guard placed on campus during evenings and nights every day of the week.

The security guard will carry out patrols (= walk around the premises). People who cannot prove that they are either staff or student will be escorted from the premises. The guard will also check that doors and windows are locked and that all alarms are working.

The guard will also be responsible for “returning home support” when the library closes. This means that the guard will help the library staff to vacate the book hall and the magazine library.
