Catch the feeling with EUC rowing, September 4-7
For the first time ever in Sweden, the European Universities Rowing Championship (EUC), is hosted by Jönköping University and Destination Jönköping. During week 36 we will welcome approximately 600 participants from all over Europe to campus for a four-day long student rowing competition on lake Munksjön.
You might wonder, will this affect me and in that case how? Of course, there will be plenty of more people running around our campus. Please be a kind and help them out if they have any questions or asking for directions. You are also very welcome to attend the events at Lillsjöplan and cheer for the teams during the week. See more information below.
The EUC rowing participants will use:
- Campus arena for registration and food
- Forum humanum (School of Health and Welfare) for coach’s meetings every day, 16:00-18:00
- Rio restaurant in the Student’s House for evening activities every night
- Akademien (Tändsticksområdet) for hosting a farewell event on Saturday evening.
- A couple of parking spots on the parking below Campus Arena on their pick up and drop off days Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
Except our facilities on campus the activities for the participants will be on Lillsjöplan down town:
- Opening ceremony on Wednesday September 4thstarting at 19:00
- Races are Thursday to Saturday, we will let you know when our JU-team will be on.
- After work and lectures at Lillsjöplan and El Gordo on Friday afternoon, September 6th starting at 16:00
- Finals and award ceremonies on Saturday, 7th September starting at 09:00
There will also be a small mini fair displaying our master programmes all week in Campus Arena.
