The Swedish acronym ULF stands for Utbildning (Education), Lärande (Learning) and Forskning (Research) and is a national project commissioned by the Swedish government. The aim is to develop an infrastructure with long-term sustainable collaboration models between academia and schools to strengthen the disciplinary foundation and the disciplinary approach in schools.

ULF started as a national pilot initiative commissioned by the government from 2017 to 2024. On January 1, 2025, the ULF activities became permanent. In connection with this, new steering and management groups were set up at national and regional level, with representatives of Swedish school principals and higher education institutions. The ULF nodes are organized into North, South, East, West and Capital nodes.

The School of Education and Communication at Jönköping University collaborates in Node West.

The School of Education and Communication is responsible for the researchers' working hours and the municipalities for the teachers' working hours within the framework of the various ULF projects.
