The Management Council is a supportive and advisory body to the dean that will work with the long-term development of the School of Education and Communication's (HLK) education and research activities based on HLK's business plan and Jönköping University's (JU) vision and goals.

The Council's meetings deal with operational issues of a strategic and overall nature, follow-up of activities, skills supply, administration, finance and work environment issues. The Management Council is responsible for the transfer of information from Jönköping University Management Council, HLK's Research Council and Course Syllabus Council.

The Management Council at HLK includes the Dean, the Vice Dean of Education, the Vice Dean of Research, Vice Dean of Quality and Development, the Operations Manager, the Heads of Department, the Associate Dean Cooperation and Internationalisation and the Operations Coordinator. The Management Council can co-opt others as needed.

Thomas Winman, vd och akademisk ledare på Högskolan för lärande och kommunikation.

Thomas Winman took up the position of Dean and Chief Academic Officer of the School of Education and Communication on November 1, 2023.

Thomas is a professor of education and has previously been active at University West, where he received his PhD in 2011. Thomas' research is grounded in a sociocultural/dialogical tradition for the study of learning processes, learning of professionals and communication in complex work environments in the modern digitalized society.

Thomas' interest in university-wide educational and research strategy issues has led to a number of administrative and management positions. He has previously been head of department and head of department and also held several assignments in various research environments.
