Collaboration between schools and academia

Collaboration within the ULF should be characterized by equal conditions between schools and academia. This means, for example, that both researchers and professional groups within the school should be able to take the initiative for development and research projects. ULF will create long-term sustainable collaboration models for research and development, regulated by agreements.

If you want to start or be involved in a ULF project, it may be useful to know what characterizes such a project. In the text below we list a number of conditions that should be considered when formulating a project idea:

  • HLK's research environments are the scientific collaboration partner towards the school.
  • ULF funds are linked to collaboration with the school. This means that researchers at HLK can only receive funding if they conduct their research in collaboration with schools.
  • The basic condition is that HLK finances the researchers' participation and that the municipality finances the teachers (first teachers or lecturers, possibly other professional groups) participating from the municipality.
  • The projects, which are designed jointly by researchers and teachers, are placed within the scientific focus of each research environment. It is also central that the projects' problems are formulated jointly by researchers and teachers.
  • The intention is that the projects should be able to run over several years, but be designed so that interim results can be reported annually. This is because ULF funds are allocated annually.
  • As part of disseminating experiences from this year's and previous years' ULF projects, the annual conference Research-based teaching Theory and practice in collaboration is organized. At the conference, it is mandatory for those who hold ULF funds to make a partial or final report on their projects.
  • An agreement must be signed between HLK and the participating municipality.

How do I proceed if I am interested in participating in ULF projects?
