The development of research at Jönköping University has led to a higher recruitment of PhD candidates at each of the four schools, resulting in almost 220 PhD candidates on campus.

PhD candidates within Jönköping University are working together via a Doctoral Forum. The aim of the doctoral forum is to create a channel for communication  for PhD candidates at Jönköping University.

The forum should:

  • enable PhD candidates' representation on the boards and committees at Jönköping University in a systematic way.
  • enable students to gain access to information regarding PhD Education at Jönköping University.
  • Encourage cooperation between PhD candidates at Jönköping University.

The members of the forum are the four doctoral associations at each school  of Jönköping University i.e. Jönköping International Business School, School of Education and Communication, School of Engineering and School of Health Sciences.

The Doctoral Forum works via a council which incorporates the four doctoral associations. It then works via projects developed by PhD candidates under the cover of the forum council. The forum council works in connection with Jönköping Student Union and with the President's Office.
