JIBS to undergo accreditation review

Between 2-4 November, the accrediting body AACSB will carry out a Continuous Improvement Review at JIBS. As a result of this review, JIBS hopes to receive a further 5 years accreditation.

JIBS was the first Swedish institution to receive accreditation from AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in March 2015. AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools. As part of a continuous improvement process, all AACSB accredited schools must go through a review every 5 years.

This review will be carried out at JIBS over three days between 2-4 November. What should have been an on-site visit, will now be carried out digitally due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In September, JIBS sent AACSB a detailed report outlining the progress and improvement made since its 2015 initial accreditation, including a summary of the effect of the coronavirus pandemic and the action taken by the school. JIBS also provided a filmed guided tour of JU campus and JIBS' premises.

On 2nd November, a series of digital meetings will start between the AACSB peer review team and various groups of people from all areas of JIBS' management, education and research, as well as staff from University Services who are connected to JIBS. The review team will also get to meet the JSA president and some JIBS alumni.

JIBS will receive an official decision about the continuation of its AACSB accreditation in January 2021.
