Examination halls will be locked 10 minutes before the exam starts
As of 11 March 2024, the doors to the exam halls will be closed and locked 10 minutes before the exam starts. This is to ensure that all students get the information they need and to avoid unnecessary disruptive behaviour.
The new rule means that students who arrive later than ten minutes before the exam starts (8:50 or 13:50) will not be admitted and will have to wait until the second admission at 9:30 or 14:30.
When students arrive late for their exam, they miss the important information given by the invigilators about five minutes before the exam starts. It is also disruptive for other students when someone arrives late and is not ready to start on time. According to figures from the Disciplinary Committee (DAN), 100 complaints were received in 2022 regarding students who did not switch off alarms on their phones. Often these students refer to not having heard the information.
