Melt assessment
With our wide range of instruments, we have the capability of assessing the melt quality and solidification behavior during casting for various types of metals and alloys.
Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES)
There are various standard samples for calibration of the instrument for chemical composition analysis.
- Supplier & Model: AMETEK/Spectro / SPECTROMAXx CCD LMXM3
- Testing methods: Optical spectroscopy based arc emissions
- Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous alloy
Hydrogen analyzer (HYCAL)
To measure the dissolved hydrogen in the Aluminium melt. Dissolved hydrogen can lead to porosity formation in the final casting. Thus, this device is a good tool for controlling these gas-related defects in the Al casting.
Reduced Pressure Test (RPT)
RPT, also known as vacuum test, is a method that can be used for assessing the gas porosity level in molten aluminium. It provides a quick indication of the melt's cleanliness and oxide level in the Al melt.
Thermal Analysis
This technique examines the solidification characteristics of molten metal. By analyzing the cooling curve of the molten metal to the solid state, we can obtain information about phase formation and transformation reactions, by which we can gain control over the material solidification behavior.
Besides these tool, tensile testing after solidification, can give us unprecedented information about the level of defects in the molten metal.
