- stronger businesses with data-driven preparedness.
Introduction
In recent years, global supply chains have been subject to major disruptions. Geopolitical tensions, extreme weather and, not least, the pandemic have led to challenges such as shortages of components and limited freight capacity. Events such as these pose major challenges for society, not least the business sector, which is often completely dependent on functioning international trade flows.
A recent study by Jönköping University paints a worrying picture of business preparedness: many Swedish companies are surprisingly unprepared for unexpected crises and lack the ability to navigate complex and turbulent supply chains. They often struggle to understand who their suppliers' suppliers are, manage inventory levels effectively and adjust delivery schedules when disruptions occur.
Motivation and purpose
The DARe project aims to help industrial companies harness the potential of their own data through smart analytics - turning raw numbers into clear visual insights, decision support and optimized strategies. The goal is for companies to reflect on different scenarios in depth and realize that data-driven decision-making can be their most valuable tool to navigate future crises.
Expected results
DARe's work identifies relevant applications of analytics in strengthening companies' resilience (SCR, Supply Chain Resilience) and analyzes obstacles to their implementation. In doing so, the project will improve decision-making in logistics, purchasing and production - and provide a stronger business community that will be able to manage future crises more effectively.
DARe is an abbreviation for Data Analytics for Resilience
