Ett samverkansprojekt om proaktiv organisering och arbetsdesign för AI-integration

A part of the research environment on applied AI (AFAIR) at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University

September 2023

More about the project

Project objectives

The purpose with this project is to build knowledge about proactive work design for sustainable AI integration in industrial organizations. PropAIr delves into how industrial

organizations proactively can embrace AI integration in their operations. We will take the results from the first project, PrepAIr, focusing on readiness for AI transformation in industrial organizations, as our starting point.

Research Questions of the project

  1. What are the characteristics of work design supporting AI integration in the specific
    context of industrial organizations?
  2. What stimulates/hinders the AI integration in industrial organizations?
  3. How can work activities facilitate organizational learning during AI integration?

Understanding organizational problems

At the moment we are working on three different academic articles on socio-technical leadership, organizational learning and tensions within organizations. Our colleague Alice Mohlin has finished a article on the problem-understanding/solving process when implementing new technology. It has been published in the Work Place Learning Journal
and offers some exciting insights that we’d like to share with you. Access it by scanning
the QR-code. Happy reading!

Flashback

Companies participating in the PropAIR project have been assigned homework during the upcoming weeks. The assignment is to identify one or several initiatives to be followed within PropAIr. The chosen projects will be up for discussion during our next workshop that will take place at Combitech in Linköping October 11-12. We will, among other things, focus on how parallell development initiatives relate in an organization.

Newly inaugurated Science Park Towers in Jönköping will host the ”AI-Day 2023” and, of course, the researchers from AFAIR/PropAIr will participate. Expect som great examples of good practice, new knowledge and advice on how to proceed with AI.
