Work permit application
The employee and the employer each have specific responsibilities in the process of applying for a work permit with the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket).
To obtain a work permit, you must have a job offer in Sweden. Your employer must have advertised the position in Sweden, the EU/EEA, and Switzerland for at least ten days before making the job offer.
Your employer in Sweden initiates the work permit application by completing the job offer form. To do this, your employer will need information such as your name, date of birth, citizenship, education, and email address.
Once your employer has submitted the job offer, you will receive an email with instructions on how to apply for a work permit.
