Every other year Jönköping University celebrates academic festivities with an inauguration and conferment ceremony.

The inauguration of full professors and conferment of PhDs takes place every 18 months at Jönköping University. The celebration is an impressive occasion with many guests, beautiful, festive clothes, speeches and live music.

Welcome to the 2022 Academic Ceremony

Next Academic Ceremony will take place on 8 October 2022, at Spira Concert Hall in Jönköping. The inaugural lectures will be held on 6 and 7 October.

09:00-14:00 Installation lectures by new professors and prize winners

The Thursday public lectures will be given by those professors who will be inaugurated at the Academic Ceremony as well as the winners of the Pedagogical Prize and Per Risberg Memorial Fund Scholarship. The moderator for the Thursday public lectures will be announced later.

10:00-13:00 Lectures by honorary doctors

The Friday public lectures will be given by JU's newly appointed honorary doctors. The moderator for the Friday public lectures will be announced later.

16:00-18:00 Ceremoni at Spira Concert Hall followed by mingel drinks and canapés.

18:45 Transportation to the dinner venue will be available for guests

19:00-01:00 Banquet at Campus Arena, three-course meal with speeches and entertainment


Dress code

Are you invited to the ceremony only the dress code is business attire.


Are you invited to the ceremony and the following dinner the dress code is formal attire, which means black tailcoat with a white shirt, white waistcoat and white bow tie, or a long evening dress or long skirt in any color of choice.
