Johanna Falck is a PhD student in Health and Care Sciences at Research School of Health and Welfare and a lecturer at School of Health and Welfare and also a member of the transdisciplinary research environment IMPROVE – Improvement, innovation and leadership in health and welfare at Jönköping University.
Johannas research concerns lipoedema which is a chronic disorder characterised by painful enlargement of subcutaneous fat. The disorder almost exclusively affects women during hormonal influence and has a negative impact on physical, emotional and social functioning. To gain a more profound knowledge of lipoedema among women in the Swedish context; health, management and challenges are being studied from both a female patient and a healthcare professional perspective.
Johanna is a reg. nurse, midwife and school nurse with clinical experience from birth care centre and student health care and has a for many years combined her clinical work with leadership in development and improvements of health care.
