Upon completion of the course the student should have the ability to:

• discuss common classifications of impairments
• explain different perspectives on health and welfare
• explain theoretical models of disability
• discuss the implications of models of disability for rehabilitation
• discuss cultural perspectives on health and disability
• explain client centered practice
• explain the Conventions on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
• discuss the important of quality improvement in health services.

• apply the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in classifying impairments
• classify health interventions according to the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI).

• identify ones own needs for knowledge and competence development.

The course is implemented through lectures, seminars and group work.

General entry requirements.

Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.

Examination of the course will be based upon one individually written examination, seminars and submission of personal reflection assignments.

A university lecturer serves as examiner for the course.
