Lärandemål

Upon completion of the course, the student should have the ablity to:

Färdighet och förmåga

  • analyse concepts of community, community development, and community-based practice as well as their relevance in occupational therapy
  • independently establish collaboration with communities to promote and develop the health and well-being of their members through their participation in occupation
  • in collaboration, assess the needs of communities and plan a sustainable community development or community-based programme to promote their occupational needs and full participation in society
  • apply knowledge on occupational therapy theory and practice to community development and community-based practice in the local context.

Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt

  • reflect on and critically appraise one’s own ability to communicate and collaborate with other stakeholders in community development or community-based practice, and identify needs and learning opportunities to improve communication and collaboration.

The course is a web-based course and consists of discussions and seminars.

Förkunskapskrav

A Degree of Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (180 credits) (or the equivalent).

Examination och betyg

Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.

Examinations consist of a needs assessment report including a critical review and participation in seminar; a project proposal which includes a written proposal, an oral pitch, critical review, and participation in a seminar; participation in a seminar discussing relevant concepts; and reflection paper.

Examination by senior lecturer.
