Upon completion of the course students should have the ability to:

  • describe and critically evaluate a scientific problem area related to prosthetics and orthotics.

Färdighet och förmåga

  • independently search for and critically evaluate information related to an area of relevance to prosthetics and orthotics
  • determine appropriate research or product development methods to address a clearly defined problem/aim
  • plan and conduct a research/development project
  • communicate the outcomes of research orally and in writing
  • critically evaluate research/development project findings.

  • demonstrate an appreciation for research ethics
  • identify their own need for continued knowledge and to develop their skills.

Undervisningsformer

The course is implemented in the form of online instructional content, individual and group supervision.

Undervisningen bedrivs på engelska.

Förkunskapskrav

General entry requirements and completed courses in terms 1-2 within the Prosthetics and Orthotics, BSc programme.
Participation in all courses which are part of terms 3-5 in the Prosthetics and Orthotics, BSc programme, including Scientific methods and statistics, 7.5 credits, and participation in Evidence based practice and knowledge translation in prosthetics and orthotics, 4 credits.

Examination och betyg

Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.

Examination will be based upon one written thesis, one oral presentation of the student’s own research and one oral opposition of another groups research.

A senior lecturer will serve as examiner for this subject.
