In order to be eligible for the MFS scholarship you need to fulfil certain criterias.

Criterias
- You study one of the eligible study programmes and are about to do the thesis/essay.
- You meet the school's criteria to write a thesis/essay on the C/Bachelor or D/Master level.
- You are a Swedish citizen or have permanent residence permit in Sweden.
- International students must have had Residence Permit in Sweden for at least one year at the time of application.
- Nordic students must have been registered in Sweden for at least one year before receiving a MFS scholarship.
- European students must have had a Right of Residence permit in Sweden for at least one year at the time of application.
- You have not started PhD studies.
Additional requirements
- You have an interest in working in global engagement in a low and middle income country.
- The thesis project and field study must be related to and of relevance for one or more strategies of Swedish development co-operation, carried out in a country where Sweden conducts development co-operation, and have a specified connection with the subjects of your study programme.
- The field study has connection to ongoing research or international collaboration at JU, is recommended.
- The academic quality and relevance of the field study for the student's program or subject.
- The degree essay/report that is the result of your MFS must be written in English.
- The knowledge achieved from the thesis must be shared internally within JU as well as external stakeholders.
- Minimum length of MFS must be 8 weeks (56 days). Counted from the day you leave Sweden until the day you leave your visiting country.
- A student can only receive the MFS scholarship once on each study level, bachelor and master.
- A student is not allowed to combine several scholarships from SIDA for the same project.
