SPSS is a software for statistical analysis.

To use SPSS  when not connected to the internet, staff with Jönköping University laptop must check out a "commuter license" since SPSS checks the license against the licensing server each time it is started. Checking out a commuter license must be done while connected to the campus network.

Check out a commuter license

Make sure you are connected to the internet and launch SPSS:
Start > IBM SPSS Statistics > IBM SPSS Statistics. Click on "File" at the top left and "Manage License" SPSS. Click on "Launch Commuter Utility Tool", select the version of SPSS you are using, e.g. 28.0, enter the number of days you need the license in the "Duration (Days)" field. You can choose between 3 to 30 days. Then click on "Check Out". When check-out is complete you should see a check-mark next to the version name.
