Social and Cultural Package
We want students to get the best out of their stay, so we will offer some free after-school activities, as well as a daytrip to Gränna, a charming city where traditional Swedish peppermint candies are handmade (and a great place to pick up souvenirs!) You can also take the ferry over the lake and explore the island of Visingsö!
We also offer an additional Social and Cultural Package for those who want to take advantage of our bigger activities. The Social and Cultural Package comes at the cost of 2200 SEK – it’s not compulsory to purchase, but highly recommended! For 2026 we will offer some new activities within the package, including a day trip to Bohus Fortress to learn about Scandinavian history, followed by free time exploration in the city of Gothenburg. We will continue to offer our traditional Swedish celebrations with a workshop on cake-making for Sweden’s National Day, our much-loved Mid-Summer flower-crown making event, a welcome lunch during our introduction day and a farewell lunch during our last day. The package also includes a local bus pass for the month, which is required for travel between JU student accommodation and campus, and for getting around the city!
Activity schedules will be available to students prior to the Summer School starting, but we ask students to avoid booking personal travel elsewhere until we have confirmed which days are free of planned activities.
The deadline to inform us if you would like to purchase the Social and Cultural Package is 2 April 2026. If you opt in, the cost is binding. You can inform us by emailing incoming.student@ju.se
