ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) is one of the most respected international rankings for academic disciplines. Its purpose is to provide an objective comparison of universities worldwide based on research strength and academic influence within specific subject areas.

The ranking evaluates around 2,000 universities in over 100 countries, and covers 57 subjects across five broad fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. GRAS uses nine transparent and measurable indicators grouped into five categories, including:
- World-Class Faculty – award-winning scholars and highly cited researchers
- Research Output – publications in leading journals
- Research Quality and Impact – citation performance and academic influence
- International Collaboration – joint research with global partners
- Academic Recognition - major academic awards
These indicators ensure that the ranking reflects research strength, global competitiveness, and academic reputation.
According to the 2025 GRAS ranking, Jönköping University is placed among the top 151–200 universities in the world in Business Administration. This achievement highlights our strong research performance, international partnerships, and commitment to delivering high-quality education in business disciplines.
For students, this highlights the university’s strong research activity and its academic reputation in the field.
