Amjad Al-Musaed at JTH is editor-in-chief of a book on sustainable urban planning

Amjad Al-Musaed, researcher and Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering (JTH), is the editor-in-chief and co-author of the book "Sustainability in Urban Planning and Design". The book is written by 54 researchers from universities around the world.

“That a large publisher as IntechOpen hire me to lead and implement this big book project is of great importance to me as a researcher,” says Amjad Al-Musaed, Assistant Professor at the Department of Construction Engineering and Lighting Science at JTH.

"Sustainability in Urban Planning and Design" was published in December and contains 24 chapters written by 54 researchers from universities around the world. The book deals with the latest research in sustainable urban planning, design, and construction.

“It is a scientific product that can be useful for architects, engineers and specialists in the construction industry,” says Amjad Al-Musaed.

He emphasises that urban planning and building are of great importance for the development towards more sustainable cities. Sustainability has been a leading focus in urban planning over the past decade.

Amjad Al-Musaed has a scientific background and expert knowledge in sustainability, architecture and urban design. He has contributed two chapters to the book, which quickly became popular and in early February had been downloaded about 5,500 times. The book is also available in hard copy.

Amjad Al-Musaed had two co-editors for the book, Associate Professor Asaad Almssad from Karlstad University and Associate Professor Linh Truong - Hong from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
