Three nailing ceremonies

During this week and next, there will be no less than three nailing ceremonies at JIBS.

“The nailing” of a thesis is an old ceremony, where the doctoral candidate literally nails his or her thesis to the wall. This means that the thesis is official and no changes may be made. The nailing ceremonies at JIBS take place on the second floor of the entrance hall.

Maria Norbäck (ESOL department) nails her thesis on Thursday, 15 December at 1 p.m. Lianguang Cui (Marketing and Logistics) and James Dzansi (Economics, Finance, and Statistics) will nail their theses on Tuesday, 20 December at 1 p.m.

The three theses are all in the subject of Business Administration, and will be number 72, 73 and 74 since the doctoral programme at JIBS started in 1995. The candidates will defend their work in B1014 at JIBS the following dates:

Lianguang Cui will defend his doctoral thesis on Thursday, 12 January at 1.15 p.m. The thesis title is: “Innovation and network development of logistics firms.”

Maria Norbäck will defend her doctoral thesis on Friday, 13 January at 1 p.m. The thesis title is: “Making Public Service Television: A study of institutional work in collaborative TV productions.”

James Dzansi will defend his doctoral thesis on Friday, 20 January at 10 a.m. The thesis title is: “Remittances, Investment and Manufacturing Growth.”

Everyone is most welcome to attend the ceremonies!
