The Swedish organization for city centres has formed a research council in the area of urban development. One of the researchers is JIBS’ Professor Charlotta Mellander.
The researchers come from universities and colleges from all over Sweden and represent several different disciplines, such as architecture, political science and human geography. The aim for the council is to promote research in the area, spread knowledge to policy makers and the public and also serve as a platform between industry and academia.
“We have tried to form a dream team for Swedish cities. Their research spans many areas that are of interest and will generate knowledge, which will be crucial to future urban development,” says Rudolf Antoni, chair of the council, in an interview for the Swedish Property Federation website.
