MMTC co-organizers of conference at the Swedish Houses of Parliament
Growth, innovation, convergence and technology were the key themes on 20 January when the Media Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC) at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) organized the conference “Seizing the Digital Opportunity – How Growth and Innovation is Created Online” at the Parliament in Stockholm, Sweden.
The conference assembled a high level audience of politicians, parliamentarians, regulators, leading industry actors and researchers. Keynote speakers including Professor Ian Hargreaves of Cardiff University, Simon Hampton, Director of European Public Policy at Google, Eva Hamilton, CEO of SVT and Dr. Martin Hvidt Thelle of Copenhagen Economics laid out the challenges and opportunities of digital growth.
The roadblocks to digital growth and how to remove them was the subject of a panel featuring a number of leading industry actors, including Georgi Ganev, (CMO, Telenor Sweden) Anders Sjöman (VP Communications, Voddler), Stefan Trampus, Head of Broadband Services, TeliaSonera), Ulf Pehrson (Global Head of Government and Industry Relations, Ericsson) and Elisabet Widlund (CEO, Musiksverige).
Alongside JIBS the other organizers of the event were Ericsson, Google, IT&Telekomföretagen, TeliaSonera, Telenor, Ernst and Young, and UK Trade and Investment. The conference was hosted by MP Olof Lavesson and the Moderate Party and moderated by Professor Lucy Küng of MMTC at JIBS, who also gave the opening address.
