Discovering my future in Digital Business at JIBS

Lana Gavranović came to Jönköping International Business School in search of an international environment, hands-on learning, and a programme that matched her passion for the digital world. What she found was a community, an academic home, and a clear direction for her future career. This is her story.

When I was exploring Master’s programmes across Europe, Jönköping University kept appearing in my searches. The more I learned, the more convinced I became. The strong international focus, the engaging course content, and the opportunities for real-world experience made JIBS stand out. So, I applied, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.”

Some of my favourite memories come from everyday moments: grabbing a coffee at Dallucci before diving into group work, spending long afternoons in study rooms with classmates, or joining activities organized by JSA - from yoga to movie nights. And of course, the lectures by the professors, who made complex topics both fun and inspiring.”

What I appreciate most about the programme is how interactive and diverse it is. The professors bring incredible energy and invite industry speakers who provide real insights into the digital field. The programme covers everything from analytics to strategy, allowing everyone to discover the area that excites them most. For me, it was digital marketing - a passion that grew from one particularly inspiring course and that I now hope to build my career around.

JIBS is unique because of its global perspective, supportive community, and commitment to sustainability. You meet people from all over the world, and the mix of backgrounds makes every discussion richer. The practical experience, from internships to company projects, have prepared me for the job market in a way that textbooks alone never could.

In a few years, I see myself working in an international company in a creative digital role, ideally in advertising or content creation. And one day, with the tools and confidence I’ve gained here, I’d love to start my own business.

If you’re considering applying to this programme, my advice is simple: explore it thoroughly, make sure it aligns with your ambitions, and then dive into everything JIBS has to offer. Embrace the international atmosphere, be curious, and don’t forget to pack warm clothes for the Swedish winter! I’ve also joined several student clubs, from sustainable action to urban farming and the book club, and these activities have made my time here even more meaningful. Whatever your interests, you’ll find your place at Jönköping University.
