“The education shaped me professionally. After graduating, I felt ready for a professional career.”

The programme shaped me professionally and prepared me to make an impact. During my years at JIBS, I noticed significant improvements in my soft skills and my understanding of international management. It was fast-paced and challenging, which helped me mature a lot in just three years. After graduating, I felt ready for a professional career and quickly received positive feedback from colleagues and employers.

To execute effective strategic planning, I am constantly challenged in areas such as Finance, Cross-Cultural Management, Trade, and Economics. The International Management programme gave me an excellent overview of these and many other areas, helping me develop strong strategic and critical thinking skills that I use in my current role. It also instilled a strong sense of sustainability that now shapes how I think and act - both at work and in my daily life - something I was proud to bring back home with me.

Throughout the programme, I really enjoyed the group assignments in most courses. Looking back, I realize how important they were for developing my soft skills and learning how to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. This was one of the most valuable aspects of the programme for preparing to work in international environments.

I also had great support from the Career Center, which offered free workshops (such as CV reviews and mock interviews), internship listings from partner companies, and guest lectures with employees from companies like Volvo, Scania, and Spotify. These experiences were highly valuable for starting my career.

A fun and life-changing experience

One of the best things about JIBS and JU was the vibrant campus atmosphere. From simple moments like having a fika at the Rio coffee shop and studying in the library to participating in kickoff weeks and other activities organized by student associations - it was all fun and academically stimulating. We had excellent student fairs, workshops by the Career Center and Science Park, and professional events organized by Case Academy, the Entrepreneurship Academy, and other student associations. There was always something happening on campus.

Be ready for a fun and life-changing experience. Studying in Sweden might have its challenges - such as harsh weather and cultural differences - but these will all bring valuable lessons to your life. After all, Sweden is a fantastic country to live in and a great society to be part of.

I recommend that prospective JIBS students connect with current students. When I was applying to Swedish universities, I reached out to students who shared their experiences with me and made me feel that JIBS was the right choice. I believe this is the best way to find out whether Jönköping is the right fit for you.
