Local Admission

Jönköping University offers a local admission for international students to apply directly to us. We recommend the local admission.

Application period

October 16 - May 2

After placing an online application, students should send all supporting documents directly to Jönköping University, by post, within 2 weeks.

Note: If you have already applied through universityadmissions.se, the Swedish national admission (open October 16- January 15), you should not place an additional application through our local Jönköping University admission.

  • Certified copies of high school diploma and transcripts* (which entitle the student to university studies in his/her home country). See: specific eligibility requirements

    • Students in the final year of high school/upper secondary school should apply through our local admission (see box on right) and submit all transcripts up to date, including courses and grades from the second to last semester of high school.
The final semester's transcript and high school diploma are not required from students preparing to graduate from high school. Jönköping University grants conditional offers to these students, and requires them to submit the final high school diploma upon arrival, prior to commencing the programme.

  • Letter of Motivation- Motivation letter should be no longer than 1000 words. Work experience that relates to programme considered an asset.

  • Web-based interview may be conducted as part of the admissions process.

* All copies must be officially certified as true copies, which means they should be stamped and signed by the issuing school or a notary public in the original language and in an officially certified translation in English (or Swedish), if the documents are issued in another language.
