Civics: Specialisation Theme I-III 15 Credits
The course is a thematic course within the social studies area. You read, analyze and problematize up-to-date research in a specific area of social science.Examples of selectable themes is "Death in a social and cultural perspective", "A new American dilemma?", "Peace and Conflict Studies", "Gender and Fatherhood in a Global Perspective", "The Anthropology of Eastern Europe", "Music, Identity and politics - sociological perspectives", "Making Social Theory global", "Theories on late modernity - living in times of risk, reflexivity and liquid lifestyles".
The course is a primarily a self-education reading course and has no lectures. You analyze and problematize the literature on your own based on a number of questions provided by your supervisor, that is a researcher in your selected theme of research.
