Martin Wallin new Dean and Managing Director of Jönköping International Business School

The Board of Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University (JU) has appointed Martin Wallin, currently at Chalmers University of Technology, as Dean and Managing Director of JIBS. He takes office on 1 August 2024.

"JIBS is an incredible business school, unique in Sweden, focusing on entrepreneurship, ownership, and renewal, and its history of combining an international environment with local roots. During my visits to Jönköping and meetings with my future colleagues, I have encountered an unparalleled dedication to research and students. It is a great feeling to lead and develop such a group. I look forward to contributing with my experiences to build an even stronger JIBS," says Martin Wallin.

Martin Wallin is a Professor of Innovation Management at Chalmers University of Technology. He is also the director of the IMIT Foundation, which facilitates research collaborations between academia and the business sector, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and renewal.

Martin holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, earned his doctorate in Technology Management, and his research focuses on innovation, management, and strategy. Over the years, he has held several managerial and leadership positions at Chalmers and is also affiliated with ETH Zurich, the Stockholm School of Economics, and Lund University.

"Through his many previous roles and responsibilities in education, research, and leadership, Martin Wallin has accumulated substantial knowledge and experience. I am convinced that Martin is an excellent force to further develop JIBS and Jönköping University together with colleagues. Jerker Moodysson left the position as Dean and Managing Director of JIBS on 1 August 2023, and Johan Klaesson, Professor of Economics at JIBS, is Acting Dean and Managing Director until Martin Wallin assumes his position on 1 August 2024.

The appointment as Dean and Managing Director is for a four-year period.
