Ther high school students Tuva Sandqvist and Wilma Lindgren were two of the visitors at JU's higher education fair in Campus Arena at Jönköping University (JU). Both are interested in studying at JU.
Great interest in JU's higher education fair
About 2,000 upper high school students visited JU's higher education fair (Framtidsmässan) in Campus Arena at Jönköping University (JU) on 18 February.
"If I live in Jönköping, it feels natural to study at JU," says Wilma Lindgren, who is studying the economics programme at Erik Dahlbergsgymnasiet in Jönköping.
The aim of the JU's higher education fair is to give high school students inspiration and an insight into their options for future study and career choices, in Sweden and abroad. 40 exhibitors participated in the fair, including most universities, vocational colleges and folk high schools, but also organizations such as the Swedish Armed Forces, the Emergency service and Region Jönköping County. JU also gave two information sessions where current students told what it is like to study at a university.
Heard many good things about JU
The students who visited the fair came from upper high schools in Jönköping municipality. Two of them were Wilma Lindgren and Tuva Sandqvist from Erik Dahlbergsgymnasiet in Jönköping, who are interested in studying economics at Jönköping International Business School and the Nursing programme at the School of Health and Welfare at JU.
"I know some people who are studying at JU, and they are happy with their programmes, so it seems really good here," says Wilma Lindgren.
Tuva Sandqvist has heard many good things about JU from her sister who is studying to be a preschool teacher at the School of Education and Communication at JU and from her cousin who has studied the Nursing programme at the School of Health and Welfare.
"I have learned a lot about JU through them and I became very interested in the School of Health and Welfare," she says.
Positively surprised
Both of them were satisfied with the fair and were pleasantly surprised that there were so many exhibitors and so many people in Campus Arena.
"It's great that there is something like this, so you can see for yourself which schools you are most interested in. It's also good that there are students in the stands, so you can talk to them about what it's like to study at the different schools," says Tuva Sandqvist.
