Interesting lectures this autumn – JU LIVE is back
Jönköping University (JU) conducts research that makes a difference – both for society and for individuals. This autumn, the popular JU LIVE lecture series continues, where you can learn about current and interesting research directly from the academics themselves. The autumn semester series starts on 4 September and includes four inspiring lectures held in the university library's historic premises. The event is free and open to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons. All lectures are held in Swedish.

From JU LIVE last semester
The JU LIVE lecture series is a way for JU to share its research with the wider community. In a collaboration with Folkuniversitetet, four popular science lectures are organised each term. The idea is that the lectures should not be too scholarly and that the audience feels welcome to ask questions to the researchers.
All the researchers giving the lectures are from JU's four schools: the School of Education and Communication, the School of Health and Welfare, the School of Engineering, and Jönköping International Business School. In some cases, researchers choose to invite representatives from relevant industries or experts from other universities to give broader perspectives.
First lecture – Talking about the United States
Aron Engberg, Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies, and Tobias Samuelsson, Professor of Social Studies, both of whom are at the School of Education and Communication at JU, will give the first lecture on 4 September, entitled: Talking about the United States. The lecture will discuss contemporary developments in the United States, political polarisation and the challenges facing American democracy.
“JU LIVE is an excellent opportunity for residents of Jönköping and the surrounding area to be inspired by interesting research from our own university – perfectly packaged with coffee and cake and time for discussion afterwards for those who wish,” says Kajsa Haag, Senior Lecturer in Business Administration at Jönköping International Business School at JU, who is involved in organising JU LIVE.
The lectures are held in the JMW Hall in JU's university library, are free of charge and include refreshments. The lectures always take place between 4 and 5 p.m. All lectures are held in Swedish.
