Top 10 for JU Solar Team

After six days and over 3000 kilometers, JU Solar Team crossed the finish line in Adeleide on Friday 18 October at 2:44 local time.

JU Solar Team finished at 10th place in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019. The weather during the race days has not been on the contestants’ side and several teams had to end the race in advance. Out of the four Swedish competing teams, JU Solar Team were the only ones crossing the finish line.

“It was a very challenging race and we are so happy to have completed this challenge and we want to thank everyone for cheering us on,” says the team.

During the race, the solar car Axelent has maintained an average speed of 65 km/h. During the week the team have encountered some issues and they had to work hard to be able to stay in the competition. At last, the team from Jönköping University ended on a 10th place out of 27 starting teams in the same class.

“Now it’s time to celebrate!” says the team on site in Australia.

This year's team consists of 16 students from Jönköping University who in the last year have worked towards the goal of participating in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2019. The 16 students are the fourth team from Jönköping University participating in the competition and the third team from JU to complete the race.
