On 30 September, Jönköping University (JU) received a visit from Ladislav Janíček, Chair of the EULiST Governing Board and President of Brno University of Technology (BUT) in the Czech Republic. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the ties within the EULiST and discuss future possibilities for co-operation, both between JU and BUT as well as within EULiST.

The meeting on 30 September was attended by Ladislav Janíček, Chair of the EULiST Governing Board and President of BUT, Iveta Šimberová, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and External Affairs at BUT, Ingrid Wadskog, Vice President for Internationalization and Dean and Managing Director at the School of Engineering at JU, and Måns Svensson, President of JU. He expresses great enthusiasm for the future.

“It is great that the President of EULiST is visiting JU. The purpose of the visit is for Ladislav to gain a deeper understanding of JU's activities, while at the same time giving us the opportunity to strengthen our ties and collaborations. It is a chance to deepen the dialogue on how we can develop the alliance within EULiST and also develop cooperation with BUT”, says Måns.

“It is always enriching to have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our EULiST alliance partners on the ground at their universities, to get a sense of context and be inspired by their views, experiences and location, and to plan collaborations. We are at the birth of a new way of international cooperation built on close collaboration between European universities of the same or similar background. However, for this concept to be successful, it is necessary to build this cooperation pragmatically, so that it best reflects the issues of the time and the societal needs we are addressing in different contexts and conditions. I look forward to further developing our alliance together in a collaborative way that will strengthen our universities and, in synergy, enable us to find innovative solutions that reflect the needs of the times and modern society“, says Ladislav.
