Pedagogical prize awarded to Elisabet Sandblom
Since 2014, Jönköping University (JU) has presented a pedagogical prize in recognition of significant contributions to educational development. This year, the award goes to Elisabet Sandblom, Assistant professor of Swedish in didactics, at the School of Education and Communication, at JU.

“It's completely unbelievable and surprising, and I was very happy,” she says about the award.
The award consists of a diploma, an honourable mention and a prize money of SEK 25 000 to be used for skills development. The prize will be awarded at the Academic Ceremony which will be held at Kulturhuset Spira on 29 november. In connection with the ceremony, Elisabet Sandblom will also be giving a public lecture.
Elisabet believes it is important to care for and show compassion to the students she meets in her teaching. Among the students that Elisabet teachers are those who are studying to become teachers.

Elisabet Sandblom is an outstanding teacher who, through her commitment and pedagogical skills, has contributed to the development of teaching at Jönköping University. With great passion and precision, she creates a learning environment where both students and colleagues are inspired to develop.
Through her work, Elisabet has demonstrated sensitivity to students' needs and a desire to constantly improve teaching. As an educator, Elisabet is innovative and reflective. She is always prepared to try and re-evaluate different teaching models to ensure that students have the best possible conditions for success. Through her teaching, she not only strengthens her students' subject knowledge, but also their ability to analyse, reflect and apply didactic methods in their future professional roles.
Elisabet is committed to important values such as sustainability, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion, and this permeates her teaching. Her educational work has had a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom, and her ability to inspire and engage makes her a role model for both students and colleagues. Through her pedagogical leadership, she has contributed to raising the quality of teaching and created a teaching environment where learning is at the centre and where every student is given the opportunity to grow, both academically and professionally.
