Crowded room when Minister Benjamin Dousa visited JU

How is Sweden affected by the changing global market? This was one of the questions discussed when Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa (M) visited Jönköping University (JU) on Tuesday 11 November. During his visit, he gave a lecture and held a question-and-answer session for students on this year's turbulent trade policy, relations with the US, and Sweden's role in the global economy.

Crowded room full of students

The JMW hall at the University Library was crowded when Benjamin Dousa visited JU. Around 130 students had gathered to hear him speak about his first year as minister at a time marked by rapid changes in world trade.

Among the participants was Tim Granstrand, who is studying a Master of Science in Business and Economics (Swedish: civilekonomprogrammet) at Jönköping International Business School at JU.

“It's nice to hear from a minister. It's always interesting to find out what they're doing, because from the outside you don't really know what they do or what things they deal with. When it comes to aid issues, we got a better picture of what the government and the state actually do, where the aid goes, and what the plans are for the future,” says Tim.

Benjamin Dousa visited several other places during his visit to Jönköping. He visited visited the candy manufacturer Bubs and also spoke at the opening of Elmia's subcontractor fair, where Jönköping University too was present.
